5 miles from Norwich city centre, Costessey is split into two main areas – Old and New Costessey, both of which lie north of the A1074 which is the main road into Norwich from Dereham/Swaffham/King’s Lynn.

Costessey has a wide range of public amenities including public houses, a veterinary practice, a golf course, a large medical practice, pharmacies, and shops.

The Longwater Retail Park is home to a large Sainsbury’s supermarket, a wide range of national retail outlets, a public house, and a Health Club. To the northwest of Longwater is the Queen’s Hill development. Set in the Wensum Valley, Queen’s Hill is located close to the Queen’s Hill Costessey Country Park.  South of the A1074 is the Hampden View development. Close to Longwater, Hampden View has several play areas for children of all ages.
